At Yellow Bird Therapy Farm, we offer farm-based life coaching for children and teens ages 5–18 in a calm and supportive outdoor setting. Through guided time with animals and nature, children build confidence, emotional awareness, and healthy coping skills. Each session is designed to help them feel safe, seen, and understood. Life coaching supports present challenges and personal growth, helping children navigate stress, anxiety, and behavioral concerns. Services are not a substitute for licensed mental health counseling.

Casey Turano and Samson: A Dynamic Duo at Yellow Bird Therapy Farm
Casey Turano: Life Coach and Educator

Casey Turano brings a wealth of experienceand a passion for helping others to her role as a life coach at Yellow Bird Therapy Farm. With a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in mental health counseling, Casey has dedicated her career to fostering growth and well-being in individuals of all ages.
Casey’s journey in education began with a rewarding 12-year tenure as a teacher in Collier County. During this time, she honed her skills in nurturing young minds and creating supportive learning environments. Her commitment to education and student welfare led her to Duval County, where she currently serves as a school counselor. In this role, Casey provides invaluable guidance and support, helping students navigate both academic and personal challenges.
Throughout her career, Casey has worked extensively with children ages 5 to 18, supporting a wide range of needs including autism, emotional disabilities, and life trauma. Her ability to tailor her approach to each child makes her a trusted and impactful presence for both children and their families. This experience has enriched her coaching style, allowing her to connect on a deeper level with those she serves at Yellow Bird Therapy Farm.
At the farm, Casey uses her background in education and counseling to provide personalized coaching sessions. Her empathetic approach and deep understanding of mental health play a key role in advancing the farm’s mission of promoting holistic well-being.
Samson: The Beloved Therapy Dog
Alongside Casey, Samson plays a meaningful role in the healing and growth of those who visit Yellow Bird Therapy Farm. Samson, a 7-year-old Dalma doodle, is known for his gentle nature and calming presence. He has worked alongside Casey since he was just three months old, forming a strong bond that enhances their work together.
Samson provides emotional support and companionship to students and visitors alike. His presence offers comfort, whether through a wagging tail or a quiet moment of connection, helping create an environment where individuals feel safe, seen, and at ease.
His impact extends beyond structured sessions. At the farm, Samson’s natural ability to connect with people brings joy and reassurance to all who meet him, fostering a sense of peace and belonging.

Behind Yellow Bird Therapy Farm are two hearts with a shared purpose and a deep belief in healing.
John Slaugh grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania, where he developed a strong work ethic and a love for the land. After serving in the Army, he built a successful career in construction and now works as a superintendent—bringing leadership, resilience, and hands-on skill to everything he does. At the farm, John is the primary caretaker of the land and animals, ensuring a safe, steady, and well-loved environment for every child and creature who visits.
Casey Turano grew up in Rhode Island before making her home in Florida, where she started a family and dedicated her life to education. From classroom teacher to school counselor, Casey has always been passionate about supporting children. She is now continuing her journey by pursuing her mental health license to further serve those in need. At Yellow Bird Therapy Farm, Casey serves as the life coach and director, working directly with children and families while guiding the vision and heart behind the farm.
Together, John and Casey have blended their life experiences, their love for animals, and their passion for helping others to create something truly special. Yellow Bird Therapy Farm is more than a dream—it’s a calling. A place where children can feel safe, seen, and supported as they grow and heal.
